SAT Program Letter

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We at Tutors on Wheels are an educational agency located in Forest Hills, New York. We have been involved in the field of education for 13 years providing both private tutoring for K-12 students (1 to 1) in all subjects and special education teacher support services (SETSS) for a great deal of schools throughout New York City. As we continue to grow, we would like to also help both schools and students to achieve their full potential on future SAT exams. The totality of the college process cannot be discussed without mentioning the significance of the SAT on a child’s college options. Many of our certified teachers currently tutor students 1 to 1 for the SAT, and these services have been of great help to students as indicated by the growth in their grades. Due to the success our experienced teachers have had tutoring students privately for the SAT, we have decided to offer our services in a group setting to meet the needs of more students including English language learners and SETSS who may be having difficulty with the SAT or simply just want a higher score on this pivotal exam.

Classes will be held at our comfortable class room style site located at 68-60 Austin Street in Forest Hills twice a week for a total of 12 weeks (24 classes). We are conveniently located near the 67th Avenue and 71st Continental Avenue train stops and along multiple bus lines (Q23, Q60, Q64). Classes on a weekly basis will alternate between mathematics and English so that students are receiving a balanced preparation for the exam. Students will be given an experienced English teacher for that particular subject and likewise receive a knowledgeable math teacher to help them with those specific sections on the SAT. Scheduling will be flexible as classes will be offered on either a weekend track or weekday schedule. This will give students a couple of options to take the program in the event that there are scheduling conflicts.

Included in the program package, students will receive their own SAT textbooks in both math and English from an accredited book publisher. These SAT books will be kept by the students for in class practice, homework, and studying. In addition to the textbooks, students will also receive a diagnostic exam initially in order to determine the strengths and weaknesses they have going into the SAT. Based on these results, students will be given an individualized learning plan that is addressed specifically to their needs. Every month, students will also receive progress reports from both their math and English teachers measuring the level of growth they have made since the program’s onset. Progress reports will be based on student performance on in-class assignments, participation, and practice exams. In addition, we will share our SAT mantras, our unique secrets to raise students’ test scores.

We greatly appreciate your time and help in launching this effective and affordable SAT program for your students. If you or students have any further questions about the SAT program or other services we offer, please have them reach out to us at (718) 268-0133 or via email at anthonyforgione@tutorsonwheels.com. We also ask if you could kindly place our flyer for the SAT program in your college office and share the good news of our program with students who are concerned about their SAT scores. We look forward to helping your school and students accomplish their goals on the SAT so that college dreams can become a reality.
